Out of the great churning that happened after the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement, two leaders emerged, Narendra Damodardas Modi and Arvind Kejriwal. Both were expected to bring massive changes in the country and state respectively. But since then, the difference in attitude, intention and the work is such a study in contrast. While AK rolled up his sleeves and got down to work, promising to seek votes only after he had fulfilled 100 % of his promises stated in his party’s manifesto, Modi turned his mandate into a never ending entertainment and mere optics, with absolutely no work to show at the end of his term.

  1. AAP represents the “Common man” not Corruption (Congress), or Corruption + Communalism (BJP)
  2. AAP collects funds from you and me, so they can work for you and me. AAP does not take corporate donations and is therefore not liable to them
  3. AAP in just four short years has delivered on 85 % of their promises made in their manifesto
  4. AAP, after four years in office, is at worst accused of dharna politics and of party members leaving them, not corruption. Each one of them including the chief minister, and the deputy minister, besides the cabinet ministers and the MLA’s have all been taken to the cleaners by the dictatorial central government and have emerged squeaky clean
  5. AAP insists on fielding highly educated, clean and professional candidates, who can think of innovative solutions and are capable of executing them
  6. AAP has chosen young and bright professionals like Raghav Chaddha, Atishi, Dilip Pandey, besides others, as their faces in the Lok Sabha elections, who have quit their cozy jobs to be part of the political revolution in the country
  7. AAP is innovative. Every initiative of their’s whether it is overhauling the government schools completely, building mohalla clinics, slashing electricity bills by half, 20,000 litres of free water, door step services of essential government documents, to save time, money and harassment, installing 1.4 lakh CCTV cameras around Delhi to curb crime, especially women, have never been seen anywhere in the country in the last 70 years
  8. AAP has increased annual budget of Delhi, by 86 %. It is the only government which invests 26% of it for education alone, a practice followed by all developed countries in the world
  9. AAP intends getting rid of the reservation policy, by elevating poverty first
  10. AAP cares for the poor, by ensuring that not only do they have water, clean toilets, concrete roads, but pucca houses as well
  11. AAP can easily divert funds from its annual budget, or get corrupt contractors to boost their party funds, a very well-established political practice, but prefers that people become part of the democratic process and donate, not just vote, to make governments more accountable
  12. AAP relies on door to door campaigns, in the spirit of democracy, not flashy, expensive campaigns
